Wonder on the Walls

When I was commissioned to paint murals in a dentist practice, there was one specific goal in mind: keep the patients distracted and calm. Here’s how I was able to let them to escape to different worlds through my art:

I started with the waiting room. My client wanted something large, visual and colourful that could keep the patients busy while they waited for their treatments. An aquarium was the perfect way to ensure that each time they came, they could discover something they hadn’t previously noticed. I even added a little crab escaping in the corner of the room. He’s by the playing area for children - an extra bit of fun!

What was left to tackle was now the treatment rooms themselves. Together with my client we selected three themes, all linked and yet unique to one another: outer space, aircrafts and butterflies.  Each room transformed with its very own atmosphere..

All the existing furniture and equipment was the perfect challenge for me to include tiny details dotted around the room, keeping the eyes entertained at all times!
